Previous Period Analysis

Previous Period Analysis:

Dashboards when possible display a previous period analysis to help you calibrate how the Choice Engine site is doing currently. The red or green % shows either the percent increase or decrease of the current period compared to the previous period ((this period - previous period)previous period) or the 8.9% in the tile below.

The previous period is dynamic based on the Time Period filter selected.

If the time period is “in the past 30 complete days”, The large grey numbers represent the absolute value from yesterday until midnight to 30 days previously at 12:00.01 am (all times are in your current timezone). The “Previous Period” for ‘in the past 30 complete days” is data from 60 days from yesterday to midnight 31 days prior to yesterday. However, if you select the Time Period Filter Past two complete weeks, the large grey numbers represent the vistis in the past two complete weeks, and the “Previous Period” are the two complete weeks prior to those.

This can be confusing so let’s take a look using some sample dates and numbers from the visits tile. If today is November 25th then the “past 30 complete days” would be from October 26 at 12:00.01 am - November 24th at midnight (remember October has 31 days). Then the previous period would be September 26 at 12:00.01 am to October 25 at midnight.

For the example dates above assume that today is November 25th. The Time Period Filter is “in the past 30 complete days”.

(Reference table below) The 155,044 in the Visits Count column represents the visits from October 26 at 12:00.01 until November 24th at midnight, “This Period”.

The 144,352 represents the visits from September 26 - October 25th, “Previous Period”.

The 8.9% is change of this period compared to the previous period, i.e.

155,044-142,352142,352 = 8.9%

Now we can understand each element of the tiles that include the previous period analysis
